Romany’s Vardo in its former site in Wilmslow<\/p><\/div>\n

Romany Society Events\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Society organises a series of events each year, with a residential weekend in the autumn, visiting sites associated with Romany’s life, or used by Romany in his books and broadcasts.<\/p>\n

Until 2013 we also had open events at Romany’s Vardo, which stood in his memorial garden in Wilmslow.<\/p>\n

The vardo has now been moved elsewhere (see the full story on the Vardo Appeal page<\/a>) and so these open days have ceased.<\/p>\n

New event May 2024:\u00a0<\/span>A guided walk to Old Parks Farm and Romany\u2019s memorial on Monday 27th May at 2pm.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The walk will take in the beautiful area, a favourite area for Romany where he wandered observing wildlife around him, and inspiring his later radio broadcasts.<\/p>\n
